The first hackathon where the instrument isn't a framework — it's an AI research system.

For one week, 100 shortlisted participants get full access to Cortex Premium — the same AI research system that researchers use to solve decade old problems worthy of Nobel Prizes. Not a demo. Not a stripped-down tier. The real thing.

The Challenge

Build something that matters in neuroscience, brain-computer interfaces, genomics, or bioinformatics. A prototype that runs and pipeline that revolutionizes treatment approach. Held to the standards of genuine research, not the standards of a typical hackathon.

What Makes This Different

  • 🔓 Cortex Premium — free for every participant. The same tool researchers use to solve decades-old problems. You're not building with toys. You're building with an AI research counterpart.
  • 💰3.5 lakh prize pool
  • 🏆 Winners receive the remaining 6,000 credits of Cortex Premium
  • 🎤 Top 10 teams present at an online symposium to judges who evaluate scientific rigor.
  • 💼 Potential opportunity with the team behind Cortex — earned, not promised
  • 🧬 No prior research experience required — but the bar for thinking is high

Requirements

What to Build

A prototype that runs. Something in **neuroscience, brain-computer interfaces, genomics, or bioinformatics** that advances science and helps humanity.

That's the scope. The rest is yours.

Use **Cortex Premium** as your primary research instrument — analyze literature, run computational simulations, scrape live sources, parse datasets, generate visualizations, verify claims. The system is built for exactly this kind of work. Push it.

What we want to see:

- Real scientific problems, not toy demos

- Depth over polish — a messy prototype with genuine insight beats a beautiful app that does nothing

- Originality — work that doesn't already exist in the same form

- Rigor — claims backed by data, not vibes

What we don't want to see:

- Another chatbot wrapper

- A dashboard that visualizes something everyone already knows

**Judging criteria (weighted):**

| Criterion | Weight |

| Problem Significance — Is the solution of high impact? | 25% |

| Technical Depth | 25% |

| Innovation | 20% |

| Scientific Rigor | 15% |

| Execution | 15% |

What to Submit

- 🎥 A 3-minute video — demo your prototype, explain your problem, show your depth. Hard cap. One second over and it's auto-disqualified. No exceptions.

- 📄 A one-page technical abstract (PDF) — problem, approach, methodology, results, what makes it novel. One page. Make every word count.

- 🗂️ A public GitHub repository (If applicable)— code, documentation, everything. Open-source. If we can't read it, we can't judge it.

Rules:

- All work must be done during the innovation period (Sept 17–24)

- Cortex must be your primary tool

- Ethical data handling is mandatory

- Open-source requirement — your repo must be public

- Originality — no repackaged existing work

Judging Criteria

  • Intellectual Depth
Judges grade depth, not polish. Is the problem worth solving? Is the approach new? Does the prototype run? Is the solution of high impact? Think outside the box — but make it real.
